Andrej Babiš Mulls Converting Prague's Hrzánský Palace into Museum
Prime Minister Andrej Babiš said on Facebook that he is considering transferring the Hrzánský Palace on Prague’s Hradčany to the Office for State Property, with a view to repurposing the historic building as a museum. The palace, which the government currently uses for meetings on forming a new cabinet and for receiving foreign visitors, would join other state‑owned properties such as the Kramář Villa and the Liechtenstein Palace. Babiš and the head of the Government Office, Tünde Bartha, also discussed plans to restore the Kramář Villa and its adjacent baroque fortifications, describing the fortifications as a major challenge. The proposal follows earlier ideas to sell or repurpose other government buildings, including the former Ministry of the Environment headquarters.
