Andrej Bagar Theatre begins facade renovation in Nitra
Renovation work has begun on the facade of the Andrej Bagar Theatre in Nitra, Slovakia. The project, funded with nearly two million euros, is expected to take up to 18 months to complete.
The renovation is necessitated by the technical condition of the building's stone cladding, which has become loose or missing in several areas. The work includes repairing the stone covering, inspecting the steel supporting structure, and replacing damaged elements with materials that match the original in color, size, and design. Additionally, the facade will be cleaned of graffiti, moss, and lichen, and treated with waterproofing and biocidal protection.
According to the Nitra County Self-Government, the theatre's maintainer, the institution will continue to operate without interruption during the construction. This project marks the first comprehensive renovation of the facade in the building's history and serves as the initial phase of a broader modernization program, which will eventually include upgrading the stage machinery.
