Andrej Balik appointed head of Anesthesiology at Hospital Vega Baja

The Conselleria de Sanidad has appointed Andrej Balik as the new head of the Anesthesiology and Resuscitation section at the Hospital Universitario Vega Baja in Orihuela.

Balik, a specialist originally from Slovakia, brings extensive clinical experience from both public and private sectors in Spain and the United Kingdom. He has been professionally linked to the Vega Baja Hospital since 2015 and previously spent nine years at the Hospital de Torrevieja, including one year as a section head.

In his new role, Balik aims to unify processes through the standardization of protocols to enhance patient safety and care quality. The appointment was welcomed by Orihuela Health Department manager Mario Medina and medical director Isabel Mascarell.
