Prime Minister Plenković visits New York firefighters and 9/11 Memorial
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković visited the Ten House fire station in New York City and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum during an official visit related to the United Nations General Assembly. Accompanied by Vladimir Balentović, Vice President of the Croatian Firefighting Association, Plenković paid tribute to the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks, including 343 FDNY members and firefighter Anthony Jovic, who was of Croatian descent.
The visit highlights the ongoing institutional cooperation between the Croatian Firefighting Association and the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY). This partnership focuses on the exchange of professional knowledge, expertise, and new technologies. Recent collaborative efforts have included studying the challenges of electric vehicle emergencies, leading to the establishment of a specialized working group within the Croatian Firefighting Association to educate personnel on these emerging risks.
