Andrej Plenković warns of Europe's challenging international position

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković stated that Europe is facing a demanding international landscape. Speaking at the ‘United in a Europe of Peace’ conference in Karlovac, Plenković identified several key pressures: Russian aggression, cracks in the transatlantic alliance due to shifting United States policies, and China's strategic economic expansion into Europe.

Plenković emphasized the necessity for European leaders to make long-term, far-reaching decisions to strengthen the European project and improve global governance. He also noted that the Croatian Pan-European Union plays a vital role in supporting Croatia's European position through the policy of modern sovereignty.

During the event, Bernd Posselt, President of the German Pan-European Union, awarded Plenković the German Pan-European Medal, citing his deep knowledge of the European Parliament and his early support for Ukraine following the Russian invasion.
