Andrew Tate indicted in Romania for trafficking and money laundering

Romanian prosecutors from the anti-organized crime agency DIICOT have issued a new indictment against social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate. The charges include human trafficking of minors, money laundering, sexual intercourse with a minor, and witness tampering. Tristan Tate is charged with complicity in these offenses.

Investigators allege the brothers recruited victims by falsely promising romantic relationships or marriage before coercing them into producing sexually exploitative content for an online webcam business. One specific allegation involves a girl who was 15 years old when she was recruited in the United Kingdom in 2012 and subsequently moved to Bucharest, where she was allegedly subjected to physical violence and psychological intimidation.

Prosecutors claim the brothers generated approximately $1.25 million from the victim's video-chat earnings, retaining roughly 80 percent of the income. They further allege the funds were laundered through the purchase of four luxury vehicles valued at approximately 825,000 euros. Authorities have requested the confiscation of these vehicles and the equivalent cash amount.

The Tate brothers, who hold dual US and British citizenship, are currently in federal custody in Miami awaiting extradition decisions related to separate rape charges in the United Kingdom. They have denied all allegations through their lawyer, Eugen Vidineac, who stated the defense will challenge any procedural or evidentiary deficiencies.
