Andrew Bailey to compete in U.S. Open after winning Mid-Amateur
Andrew Bailey, owner of the premium golf apparel brand Holderness & Bourne, will return to the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach next year as a competitor rather than a merchandise vendor.
Bailey secured his spot in the Masters and the U.S. Open after winning the U.S. Mid-Amateur with a 5-and-4 victory. His win came despite recent physical challenges, including a shoulder surgery in February following a snowboarding injury. Bailey noted that adrenaline helped him manage the pain during his championship week, which only flared up after the tournament concluded.
Previously, Bailey worked in the merchandise pavilion at the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. His transition from vendor to player follows a season marked by recovery from past injuries, including a broken wrist sustained during his time at Cleveland State.
