Andrew Fairlie Scholarship names five culinary finalists

Andrew Fairlie Scholarship culinary talent Scottish chefs gastronomy chef competition

Five aspiring chefs have been named finalists for the 2026 Andrew Fairlie Scholarship. The finalists, selected through a competitive process, will compete in a Grand Final on November 25 at UHI Perth, with the winner announced at The Gleneagles Hotel.

The finalists are Finlay MacDonald, Jamie Cochrane, Mohammed Anas Siddique, Luke Atagan, and Emily Hailstones. During the final, candidates will prepare a seasonal two-course meal designed for their applications, featuring a Chou Farci with Scottish game and a dessert based on homemade brioche and apples.

A judging panel of prominent chefs will oversee the competition, led by Head Judge Stephen McLaughlin of Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, alongside Sat Bains and Gary Maclean.
