Andrew Garfield discusses new films ‘The Uprising’ and ‘Artificial’

Actor Andrew Garfield is promoting his upcoming film, ‘The Uprising’, a drama directed by Paul Greengrass based on the 1381 Peasants’ Revolt in England. During recent appearances, including a segment on ‘The Daily Show’, Garfield discussed the film’s themes of class struggle and power concentration. He expressed a hope that the movie would be ‘galvanizing’ for audiences and noted that the ultra-rich might be in need of ‘healing’.

Garfield also addressed his role in the upcoming film ‘Artificial’, directed by Luca Guadagnino, in which he portrays OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. The film dramatizes the period surrounding Altman’s brief removal and subsequent reinstatement at the tech company. After being picked up by Neon, ‘Artificial’ is scheduled for a limited U.S. theatrical release on Christmas Day following its premiere at the New York Film Festival.
