Andrew Garfield to receive Maltin Modern Master Award

Actor Andrew Garfield will be honored with the Maltin Modern Master Award at the 42nd Santa Barbara International Film Festival. The ceremony, scheduled for February 6, 2027, will feature an onstage career conversation between Garfield and film critic Leonard Maltin.

Maltin cited Garfield’s ability to balance mainstream Hollywood franchise roles, such as his appearances in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ films, with demanding, director-driven projects like ‘Silence’, ‘99 Homes’, and ‘The Social Network’. Garfield’s career achievements include two Academy Award nominations, a Golden Globe, and a Tony Award.

The festival is set to run from February 3–13, 2027. Garfield’s upcoming work includes playing Sam Altman in Luca Guadagnino’s ‘Artificial’, which is scheduled for U.S. theatrical release on December 25, 2026.
