Andrew McEvoy appointed chairman of Into The Wild Escapes

Andrew McEvoy, former chief executive of Tourism Australia and current director of Destination NSW, Journey Beyond, and chairman of Luxury Escapes and Camplify, has been named incoming chairman of eco‑accommodation operator Into The Wild Escapes. The Australian company runs 60 premium off‑grid cabins across six states and has generated over $20 million in lifetime bookings and more than 50,000 visitor nights.

McEvoy said the business is “one of the most capital‑efficient models I’ve seen in Australian tourism,” and highlighted the founders’ success in building a market‑leading brand without diluting ownership. Co‑founder and CEO Celeste Giannas added that the firm’s pipeline of more than 500 cabins will leverage McEvoy’s experience and networks to secure capital partners and expand the concept nationally.
