Andrew Ng, co‑founder of the online learning platform Coursera, announced the launch of a new artificial‑intelligence startup called LearnVector. Coursera is providing a $100 million investment that gives it roughly a one‑third ownership stake and values the company at about $300 million.

LearnVector will use AI foundation models from third‑party providers to create individualized, skill‑building courses for white‑collar workers. The venture plans to roll out its first courses early next year and aims to sell them to corporations, governments and higher‑education institutions. Coursera will partner with LearnVector to market and develop the courses together.

Ng, who also serves as a general partner at AI Fund and a director at Amazon.com, said the initiative is meant to counter the view that AI will replace workers, arguing instead that AI can boost productivity and generate new demand for skills.
