Andrew Scott to star in film adaptation of ‘Sea Wall’
Actor Andrew Scott is set to reprise his role in the solo play ‘Sea Wall’ for a limited Off-Broadway run and a subsequent feature film adaptation. The production will consist of 19 performances at Studio Seaview in New York, running from October 16 to October 30.
Directed by Tina Satter, the film will utilize a unique approach by being conceived as a film about the creation of theater. Rather than a traditional adaptation, the project will incorporate footage of the performances alongside behind-the-scenes shots and audience reactions, treating the spectators as essential characters in the feature.
Written by Simon Stephens, the monologue follows a character named Alex as he navigates the aftermath of a tragic accident. This marks a return to the role for Scott, who originally performed the piece in London and Edinburgh.
