Andrew Tate detained in Miami prison, alleges unsanitary conditions

Former kickboxer and social‑media personality Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested in Miami and placed in federal detention without bail after British authorities added 38 new sex‑crime charges, bringing the total count against them in the UK to 59. The UK has lodged an extradition request, which U.S. officials say they will not intervene in.

From within a Special Housing Unit (SHU), Andrew Tate has used X to claim he is held in isolation, forced to drink water from a broken faucet that he describes as contaminated, and confined next to an inmate he calls a "cannibal" who screams throughout the night. His lawyer says Tate has no direct access to social media and messages are relayed through the legal team. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the administration has no role in the extradition process.
