Tate brothers stay in US jail as UK extradition fight continues
Social‑media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate remain in federal detention in Miami. A U.S. magistrate, Lauren Louis, set a detention hearing for August 13, 2026, meaning the brothers will stay in jail for at least two more weeks while their extradition case proceeds.
The United Kingdom has asked for their extradition on multiple offences – rape, assault, sex‑trafficking and crimes involving indecent images of a child – alleged to have occurred between 2010 and 2017. Britain has added four new accusers, citing evidence from Bedfordshire Police. Their lawyers say the extradition effort is politically motivated. The White House, via press secretary Karoline Leavitt, confirmed the administration will not intervene. The brothers hold dual U.S. and U.K. citizenship and have repeatedly denied the charges.
