Andrew and Tristan Tate Seek Bail as US Extradition to UK Moves Forward

Former kickboxers Andrew Tate, 39, and Tristan Tate, 38, were arrested by U.S. Marshals in Miami on July 18, 2026. Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service has filed 59 charges against them, including rape, assault and facilitating human‑trafficking for sexual exploitation, relating to seven alleged victims.

Their lawyers filed a bail request with U.S. Magistrate Judge Lauren Louis, arguing that the brothers’ extraordinary public visibility would make it “extraordinarily difficult” for them to flee. The filing asks for release on bail conditioned on surrendering passports and wearing location‑monitoring devices, with a hearing set for August 13. The United Kingdom must submit a full extradition request to the U.S. State Department by September 16.

Attorney Joseph McBride also announced plans to contact former President Donald Trump for assistance, but a Trump administration spokesperson confirmed no intervention in the extradition process. The brothers continue to deny all wrongdoing.
