Andrew Tate lawyer warns Trump of political fallout over extradition case

Internet personality Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan are being held in a Miami detention centre while facing 59 UK charges that include rape, human trafficking and controlling prostitution. Their lawyer, Joseph McBride, told Vanity Fair that if President Donald Trump does not intervene, “the young cohort of people will break with the Republican Party” and the GOP could lose a key bloc of young male voters in the 2026 midterm elections.

The White House, through Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, has repeatedly said the administration will not take part in the extradition proceedings, distancing itself from the polarising influencer despite speculation about his ties to the Trump circle.
