Andrew Tate to sue FDC Miami over alleged prison conditions
Andrew Tate has announced plans to take legal action against the Federal Detention Center (FDC) in Miami, alleging that his confinement constitutes ‘cruel and unusual punishment.’ Tate claims that his living conditions have deteriorated significantly, specifically citing a lack of hot water, the absence of air conditioning, and severe cockroach infestations.
Tate stated on social media that he has spent 61 days in the Special Housing Unit (SHU), a punitive area for inmates who attack others. He alleged that his treatment has been ‘downgraded by 95%’ compared to other prisoners and noted that while some inmates accused of violence are released from the unit after seven days, he has remained in punitive housing.
Andrew and his brother Tristan Tate have been detained in Miami since July 2026 while fighting extradition to the United Kingdom. They face 59 criminal charges, including rape and human trafficking for sexual exploitation, all of which the brothers deny.
