Andrey Gyurov and Georgi Kandev face political shifts in Bulgaria

The political landscape for the upcoming presidential elections in Bulgaria is shifting as various factions declare their positions. The Blue Bulgaria coalition has officially refused to support the presidential candidacy of Andrey Gyurov and Georgi Kandev. Leader Petar Moskov stated that the right-wing European opposition remains divided due to narrow party interests and tactical errors, noting that the current candidates do not meet the coalition's goal of a unified right-wing opposition.

In contrast, support is coalescing around other candidates. An initiative committee of 200 people has been established to support Gyurov and Kandev. Meanwhile, Emil Radev, a long-standing MEP from the GERB party, is set to join the initiative committee supporting the candidacy of Iliyana Yotova and Kiril Valchev. Radev, a prominent legal expert and member of the European Parliament, is expected to provide significant political weight to the Yotova-Valchev ticket.
