Andrey Gyurov expected to announce presidential candidacy

Andrey Gyurov is expected to announce his candidacy for the presidency in the coming days, according to Atanas Atanasov, a deputy from Democratic Bulgaria (DB). Preparations are currently underway to establish an initiative committee and organize a campaign aimed at mobilizing the pro-European democratic community.

Atanasov noted that while the mechanism for his nomination has changed, the goal remains to provide a unifying figure for democratic forces to counter the concentration of power in Bulgaria. Regarding potential cooperation, Atanasov stated that the decision on whether to seek support from the GERB party would be a matter for the candidate and the initiative committee to determine.
