Andrey Gyurov quits teaching at American University in Blagoevgrad

Former caretaker prime minister Andrey Gyurov announced he will not teach courses at the American University in Blagoevgrad for the upcoming academic year. The university confirmed that his resignation from the honorary economics teaching post was his own decision, stating he did not want to mislead students enrolling in finance classes.

Gyurov, who led Bulgaria's caretaker government in 2023, has not yet decided whether to run in the presidential election scheduled for October. He said he is still weighing the choice and may receive backing from parties such as "Continuing the Change" and "Democratic Bulgaria."
