Andrey Gyurov visits Botevgrad during presidential campaign
Presidential candidate Andrey Gyurov visited Botevgrad as part of his national campaign tour. During his meetings with citizens, Gyurov emphasized that a strong state is defined by functional institutions that impact people's daily lives, rather than just appearing during times of crisis.
Gyurov stated that security begins with basic necessities, such as reliable infrastructure, access to water, and public safety. He argued that the performance of state institutions should be measured by tangible results and problem-solving rather than the number of meetings, inspections, or reports produced. He advocated for better planning in public works, preventative measures, and the equal application of the law for all citizens.
Regarding the role of the presidency, Gyurov noted that a president should not promise solutions outside their legal powers. Instead, the office should focus on placing systemic issues on the national agenda, demanding accountability from institutions, and defending their professional and political independence. He concluded by highlighting the importance of assembling a competent team to restore trust in state institutions.
