Andria: Illegal auto repair workshop seized by authorities

The Guardia di Finanza has seized an unauthorized auto repair workshop operating out of a garage in Andria, Italy. Although the business had formally ceased operations several years ago, the owner continued to perform vehicle repairs without the necessary legal authorizations or signage.

Officers initiated the investigation after noticing unusual vehicle and pedestrian movement near a garage that appeared to have no commercial activity. Upon inspection, authorities discovered a car undergoing repairs inside the premises.

As a result of the operation, the Guardia di Finanza seized all equipment used for the business, including worktables, shelves, compressors, drills, tools, paints, and solvents, with the intent of confiscation. The premises have been sealed. The owner has been reported to the Bari Chamber of Commerce for administrative sanctions, and tax authorities are currently working to reconstruct undeclared revenues to recover evaded taxes.
