Andria launches DesTEENazione hub for youth and families
The Officina San Domenico in Andria opened the DesTEENazione space, a dedicated centre for adolescents aged 11‑21 and their families. The project is part of the national "Inclusion and Fight against Poverty" programme (2021‑2027) and is promoted by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies.
The municipality secured the most significant Puglia‑wide funding for the hub, enabling a renovated venue with new furniture and equipment. DesTEENazione offers creative, cultural and multimedia labs, active citizenship pathways, school‑drop‑out prevention, psychological support, parental‑guidance services, orientation and social‑work inclusion.
The inauguration was attended by municipal officials Mirko Malcangi, assessor for the “Trusted City” portfolio, and Rosa Di Palma, director of the Social Policies sector, who praised the initiative. Technical coordination is provided by Saverio Colasuonno, and the hub operates in collaboration with third‑sector organisations including Comunità Oasi 2, Capital Sud APS, I Care ETS and the Fondazione Giovanni Paolo II.
