Andrija Bajić funeral sparks clashes among Serbian singers

The funeral of legendary Serbian singer Andrija Bajić was held in the Alley of Deserving Citizens and attracted many colleagues and fans. The ceremony, however, was marked by several public disputes among performers.

Singer Hasan Dudić refused to shake hands with fellow artist Atina Ferari, describing her appearance and behavior as inappropriate and saying he has the right to choose whom to greet. Ferari later claimed Dudić threatened her, to which Dudić replied that any proven threat would lead him to drastic action. In a separate row, singer Era Ojdanić and Bajić’s widow Mala Cana exchanged accusations; Cana released a telephone conversation alleging Ojdanić used the singer’s death for personal marketing and criticized his conduct at the funeral. Additional tensions involved other entertainers, but the incidents collectively dominated media coverage of the otherwise solemn event.
