Andrija Bajić funeral set for July 16 at Belgrade New Cemetery

Serbian folk‑music legend Andrija Bajić, who died on July 7 from complications of a stroke, will be buried on July 16. The funeral will take place at 12:30 p.m. in the Aleja zaslužnih građana section of the New Cemetery in Belgrade, attended by family, friends, colleagues and numerous fans.

His wife, Mala Cana, spoke after the prior commemoration ceremony, held on July 10 at the MTS hall, about the lack of support from his daughters and personal hardships in their marriage. The burial is organized by the SEMUS association and is expected to draw a large crowd to honor his decades‑long contribution to Serbian music.
