Andrijevica Fruit House project faces delays due to planning errors

The construction of the Fruit House (Kuća voća) in Andrijevica has stalled, leaving the future of the multi-million euro investment uncertain. The project was designed to serve as a center for the purchase, freezing, and processing of berry and soft fruits, featuring a 500-ton cold storage facility alongside an educational and research block.

The Organic Fruit Growers Association has criticized authorities for their silence regarding the project's status, noting that the unfinished facility is being overtaken by weeds. Analysts suggest that incorrect assessments in the project documentation have halted progress, emphasizing that the specific product output of the facility must be defined before work can resume.

While local administration acknowledges the delay and its impact on regional fruit production, they have stated that responsibility for completing the project lies with the Government, which assumed the obligation to make the facility operational.
