Andrijevica suspect detained following fatal traffic accident

The Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje has ordered the detention of J. L. for up to 72 hours in connection with a fatal traffic accident that occurred in the Trepča settlement near Andrijevica.

Authorities suspect the incident took place on April 23 on the Berane–Andrijevica regional road. It is alleged that J. L. operated a motor vehicle at excessive speeds, exceeding both the posted limits and the legal speed limits for young drivers. The prosecution states the suspect engaged in reckless and inconsiderate driving, failing to take necessary measures to avoid danger.

The resulting collision between the suspect's vehicle and a vehicle driven by A. P. (21) led to the death of A. P. due to severe injuries. Additionally, three passengers in the suspect's vehicle sustained injuries. Further legal measures are being taken to reach a decision in the case.
