Andrijevica suspension bridge faces decay amid lack of funding

A historic suspension bridge over the Lim River, which connects the Lukin Fir hamlet to the Berane–Andrijevica highway, is facing severe deterioration. Despite promises of reconstruction, the structure remains in a state of decay, and local authorities have not secured the necessary funds for its repair or the construction of a new reinforced concrete bridge.

Communal police prohibited passage over the bridge nine years ago due to safety concerns. Consequently, local residents are forced to use a detour via the Marsenić River, adding several kilometers to their travel to Andrijevica and Berane. Residents report that recent flooding of the Lim River has further damaged the structure, which was originally intended to be a temporary solution.
