Andris Kulbergs meets with United List deputies to discuss reform plan
Prime Minister-designate Andris Kulbergs held an internal meeting with the 41 newly elected deputies of the United List (AS) to discuss political priorities and prepare for the upcoming Saeima term. During the meeting, which took place outside of Riga, an agreement was reached regarding the future course of action and the principles for upcoming government formation negotiations.
Kulbergs stated that the mandate from society requires immediate changes, specifically focusing on increased accountability, more efficient use of state funds, and concrete decision-making. His proposed reform plan includes improving government efficiency, strengthening fiscal discipline, reducing bureaucracy and state expenditures, and promoting economic growth.
Following this internal consensus, Kulbergs plans to begin formal talks with potential coalition partners. Scheduled meetings with the National Alliance (NA) and New Unity (JV) are expected to take place on October 28. The Prime Minister-designate noted that all government models, including a minority government, remain under consideration.
