Andritz expands turbogenerator production and secures Canadian hydro contract
Andritz is significantly expanding its production capacity for turbogenerators to meet the rising global demand for renewable energy technologies. A key part of this strategy involves the reactivation of its production site in Linz, Austria. The company has completed a 700 square meter expansion of its existing production hall, effectively doubling its turbogenerator production capacity. This facility, which benefits from direct access to the Danube for transporting heavy components, is expected to create approximately 150 new jobs.
In addition to its domestic expansion, Andritz has secured a major international contract with Canadian utility provider New Brunswick Power. The agreement covers the engineering and planning phase for the modernization of the 666-megawatt Mactaquac hydroelectric plant, including the design of Kaplan runners and other turbine components. The company expects to recognize this contract in the third quarter of 2026.
