Android Auto gains Gemini shortcuts and Google Meet integration

Google has expanded Android Auto with two new features. The Gemini launcher lets drivers create custom shortcuts that bundle multiple actions—such as navigation, restaurant search, messaging, music selection or email checks—into a single button on the infotainment screen. Once set up, the shortcut can be activated by voice or tap, simplifying hands‑free interactions while driving.

In addition, Google Meet is now built into Android Auto. Users can view upcoming meetings, join calls, and start new audio‑only calls directly from the dashboard. To keep focus on the road, video is disabled and only audio is transmitted during calls. The feature rolls out gradually and should be available to all users by June 26, provided the Meet app is installed on the phone.
