Android battery life can be improved by adjusting location settings

Android devices may experience significant battery drain during idle periods due to frequent location requests and background processes. Even when using the “Only while using the app” permission, certain applications such as Instagram, TikTok, and Google Maps can remain active in the memory through background synchronization.

Furthermore, Android devices may continuously scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth devices to provide precise location data, even if GPS is disabled. This scanning can consume between 10% and 15% of battery life overnight. To mitigate this, users can limit location permissions, disable “precise location” for non-essential apps, and turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning within the Location Services settings.
