Android security: Using smartphones as encrypted storage and securing lost wallets

Android smartphones can serve as secure alternatives to traditional USB flash drives. Because modern Android devices feature native encryption once a lock screen is configured, internal storage is automatically protected against unauthorized access. Users can transfer files by connecting the device to a computer via a USB-C cable and selecting the file transfer mode in the settings.

In the event of a lost device, users can secure sensitive information stored in digital wallets remotely. By using Find Hub and logging into a Google account, a user can mark their Android device as lost. This action disconnects the device from the Google account and removes all cards from Google Wallet, protecting payment methods, loyalty cards, and digital IDs.
