Android smartphone owners can clear storage without removing apps
Android users facing full internal memory can free space without uninstalling any applications.
The built‑in Settings app lets users open Apps → Manage apps, select frequently used apps and tap Clear data → Clear cache. Repeating this for multiple apps removes hidden cache files that often occupy large amounts of storage.
Google’s Files app offers an automatic junk‑file cleaner that scans for temporary system files, duplicate media and other unnecessary data. After installing the app, users choose the Clean option and confirm deletion of the identified junk.
WhatsApp, a common source of storage consumption, can be tamed by disabling the auto‑download of photos, videos, audio and documents in Settings → Storage and data. The Manage storage feature then lists large media files and forwarded items, allowing users to select and delete individual chats or bulk‑remove all unwanted items. These steps restore available space while preserving the installed applications.
