Android smartphones: ways to prevent overheating

To prevent Android smartphones from overheating, users can implement several technical adjustments. Effective measures include disabling adaptive charging, limiting the screen refresh rate to 60Hz, and turning off unnecessary connections such as Bluetooth or 5G, especially in areas with poor signal reception.

Excessive heat is detrimental to lithium-ion battery health; temperatures consistently exceeding 35-40 degrees Celsius can accelerate chemical degradation and lead to issues like swollen batteries or significantly reduced autonomy. Contrary to common belief, forcing the closure of all background applications may actually increase heat, as the processor must work harder to reload them. Instead, users should monitor background services and consider switching from 5G to 4G in low-signal areas to reduce modem strain.
