André‑Pierre Gignac targeted for Tigres executive post amid amateur‑league controversy

Tigres UANL president Carlos Emilio González confirmed that the club has held talks with former striker André‑Pierre Gignac about joining the organization in a directorial capacity. González said a formal proposal is being prepared and that Gignac expressed enthusiasm for helping the franchise expand its brand in Mexico and abroad. Negotiations have been delayed by the pending transfer of Angel Correa to River Plate and the unexpected resignation of Guido Pizarro.

Separately, Gignac was observed playing in an amateur match in San Pedro Garza García, where he kicked an opponent and pushed the referee, earning a yellow card and sparking criticism on social media. The incident has revived debate over his conduct since leaving Tigres.
