András Csaba defeats Dang Qiu at WTT Europe Smash

Hungarian table tennis player András Csaba secured a significant victory at the WTT Europe Smash in Malmö, defeating the 11th-ranked German player Dang Qiu in the main draw. Csaba, currently ranked 66th in the world, advanced to the main draw through the qualifiers after narrowly avoiding elimination in the first qualifying round.

Following his win against the former European champion, Csaba is scheduled to face Egypt's Omar Assar, ranked 35th, in the round of 32. Csaba noted that he felt he played tactically perfectly and had learned from previous mistakes made during the United States Smash in Los Angeles. This marks the first time the 24-year-old has won a main draw match in a Smash-category tournament, which is the highest tier in the WTT series.
