Andrés Gómez ruled out of Vasco vs. Flamengo derby due to injury

Vasco da Gama has confirmed that Colombian attacker Andrés Gómez will miss the upcoming derby against Flamengo due to a left foot injury. The player suffered trauma to his hallux (big toe) during a recent match against Corinthians, where he was forced to leave the field in the first half.

Gómez, who is currently on loan from Galatasaray, has been playing through discomfort for several weeks. The club's medical department and coaching staff evaluated his condition following the recent match, ultimately deciding not to include him in the squad for the Thursday fixture at Nilton Santos.

In addition to Gómez, defender Cuesta remains unavailable due to hip pain caused by impact syndrome. To cover the absence in attack, manager Pedro Emanuel may utilize Marino Hinestroza or David, while the defensive line faces uncertainty with Cuesta's continued absence.
