Andrés Hurtado seeks release from Lurigancho prison
Former television host Andrés Hurtado, known as ‘Chibolín’, has requested to be released from preventive detention at the Lurigancho prison. During a hearing before Judge Juan Carlos Checkley, Hurtado argued that he does not pose a flight risk, citing his established residence in Surco and his family and professional ties.
Hurtado expressed significant concern for his 10-year-old daughter, Luciana, stating that he is her sole financial provider. He questioned how she could survive during his two-year incarceration and requested that the court consider her circumstances in the evaluation of his freedom.
The legal proceedings involve serious allegations of influence peddling, which reportedly implicate various prosecutors and judges. Hurtado denied any intention to flee the country, maintaining that his previous movements were related to medical procedures.
