Andrés Nocioni involved in boat collision on Paraná River
Former NBA player and Argentine basketball star Andrés ‘Chapu’ Nocioni was involved in a boat collision on the Paraná River near Itatí. The incident occurred around 19:00 near Isla Gato when a private speedboat, named ‘Cafañoto’, collided with an official vessel belonging to the Argentine Naval Prefecture.
The private boat was carrying Nocioni, a guide, and a friend. The official vessel was being operated by two officers, Ariel Hernán Núñez and Norberto Osvaldo Zalazar, who were performing sounding and prevention tasks due to rising river levels.
All individuals involved sustained only minor injuries. Nocioni and his companions were able to reboard their vessel and were later evaluated at a local hospital, where they were cleared. The two naval officers were also treated for light injuries. Alcohol tests conducted on all parties following the collision returned negative results.
