Andrés Roca Rey cuts three ears at Nîmes Féria opening

Peruvian matador Andrés Roca Rey delivered a high-stakes performance during the opening of the Féria des Vendanges at the Arènes de Nîmes on September 18, 2026. Despite facing a dangerous moment during his final bout, Roca Rey successfully cut three ears and was carried out through the Porte des Consuls.

During his encounter with the sixth bull of the afternoon, a Cortés bull, Roca Rey suffered a violent toss that resulted in a visible injury to his chin. After the fall, he regained his composure and continued his performance, eventually securing the third ear of the session.

While Roca Rey celebrated a successful return to form, his fellow performer Alejandro Talavante concluded the event without trophies.
