Hungarian actor András Stohl recently reflected on a pivotal moment in his early career through an archival video shared by the National Archives. The footage captures a conversation where Stohl discusses a significant setback during his drama school auditions.

After a performance he believed was highly successful, Stohl was informed he had not been selected. The feedback provided was that he was still ‘physically immature for the task,’ a comment that deeply affected him at the time. The disappointment was so severe that he initially intended to skip the entrance exams for the University of Theatre and Film Arts.

Ultimately, his mother encouraged him to persist, telling him to go to the exam on Monday and see what he had to lose. Stohl followed her advice, successfully passed the subsequent examinations, and began his professional acting career.
