Andrzej Duda denies allegations regarding PKOl leadership

Former President Andrzej Duda has publicly refuted allegations made by Robert Korzeniowski regarding the leadership of the Polish Olympic Committee (PKOl). Korzeniowski, a candidate for the position of PKOl President, suggested in a radio interview that the former head of the committee, Andrzej Kraśnicki, had stepped down due to pressure from Duda and Jacek Sasin.

Duda characterized these claims as “falsehoods” and “slander” that “grossly deviate from the facts and the truth.” He stated that he maintained a relationship of respect and friendship with the late Kraśnicki and had never pressured him to decline re-election. Instead, Duda noted that he had been expecting Kraśnicki to run again and learned of his decision to step down directly from him.

The dispute occurs amidst a leadership transition at the PKOl. The current president, Radosław Piesiewicz, is currently in custody in connection with the Zondacrypto affair. The PKOl board is scheduled to meet on December 14 to decide the future of the institution's leadership.
