Anduril and Qualcomm announce BlueChip US-made laptop line
Anduril Industries and Qualcomm Technologies have announced BlueChip, a new hardware line featuring laptops designed and assembled in the United States. The initiative aims to rebuild domestic computer manufacturing capabilities for defense, government, and public safety sectors, reducing reliance on foreign supply chains that may be vulnerable to conflict or disruptions.
The BlueChip laptops will utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Series platform for processing, graphics, and on-device artificial intelligence. Anduril plans to manufacture the devices in the U.S., with circuit board assembly slated for its Arsenal-1 facility in Ohio. The company is currently qualifying domestic suppliers for components such as enclosures, battery systems, and display glass.
Anduril founder Palmer Luckey has suggested that future models could integrate phased array antennas—similar to those used by Starlink—directly into the laptop's rugged casing to provide satellite broadband access in the field. While prototypes are complete, the company expects to open orders in 2027.
