Georgia wedding dispute sparks controversy over Russian participants

A wedding held at a hotel in Telavi, Georgia, became the centre of a dispute after Russian women attending the event were accused of disruptive behaviour. Journalist Nino Jangirashvili denounced the participants as "disinformers" and warned that their presence increases the risk of cultural conflict, citing issues such as noise, equipment damage and alleged harassment.

Lawyer Lali Afciouri, representing one of the Russian citizens, said an investigation is needed to determine who caused any injuries or damage. She noted that the guests, including a Russian woman, were interrogated and warned against provocations. Afciouri emphasized that legal action may follow if evidence of wrongdoing is found, and highlighted that about 120 people were present at the ceremony.
