Andy Biggs pulls ahead in Arizona Republican governor primary

Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination for Arizona governor. The Republican primary features U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs and Rep. David Schweikert, both vying to become Hobbs' challenger in the November general election.

Recent polls give Biggs a commanding lead, with a 50‑point advantage over Schweikert in one survey and a 46‑point lead in another. Former President Donald Trump has endorsed Biggs, and the candidate says he will focus on lowering housing costs, cutting taxes, reducing regulations, and tightening border security. Schweikert emphasizes similar tax‑cut and deregulation goals and also supports stricter immigration enforcement. Hobbs holds a sizable cash‑on‑hand advantage over both Republican contenders.
