Andy Diaz targets triple jump world record in Lausanne

Triple jumper Andy Diaz is attempting to break the long-standing world record of 18.29 meters, set by Jonathan Edwards in 1995, at the Diamond League meeting in Lausanne.

Following a successful performance at the European Championships in Birmingham, where he secured gold with a jump of 18.15 meters, Diaz aims to surpass the 18-meter mark again at the Stade Olympique de la Pontaise. He faces a highly competitive field including Pedro Pichardo, Andrea Dallavalle, Jordan Scott, Yasser Triki, Russell Robinson, and Lazaro Martinez.

The event is scheduled for Friday, August 21, with the triple jump competition taking place at 19:10 local time.
