Andy Howe leaves Newcastle United senior football executive role
Andy Howe has departed Newcastle United after five years with the club, leaving his position as senior football executive to pursue new challenges. The exit is reported to be amicable.
Howe, the nephew of former manager Eddie Howe, rose through the club’s scouting structure, moving from head of first-team technical scouting to assistant head of first-team recruitment before reaching his senior executive role. He worked closely with sporting director Ross Wilson and was credited with playing an influential role in several key transfers, including the recruitment of Sandro Tonali and Malick Thiaw.
His departure comes amid a broader restructuring of Newcastle’s recruitment department following the appointment of head coach Matthias Jaissle. The exit follows that of former head of recruitment Steve Nickson, leaving Wilson to oversee a refreshed scouting and recruitment operation.
