Andy Katz announces death of brother Danny at 62

College basketball analyst Andy Katz has announced the death of his older brother, Danny Katz, who passed away at age 62 in his New York apartment. Danny had been fighting bile duct cancer for nearly four years.

In a social media tribute, Andy Katz described his brother as a multifaceted individual: a college athlete and high-level runner at Amherst College, an attorney educated at Penn and Cambridge, and an actor with an MFA from Columbia University. He was also a husband of 24 years to Meg Parsont.

Andy Katz, a veteran broadcaster known for his work with ESPN and the Big Ten Network, shared that he participated in the Newport Half Marathon in his brother's honor. He reflected on the family's recent losses, noting that both of their parents had also passed away within the previous two years.
